In the Darkness Deep

I have been preparing for the winter solstice. It has been especially meaningful to me this year as so many things are ending and beginning. I have also been pondering much on the winter solstice in 2012.

It is sure to be a very fated year, given all that has been predicted by numerous prophets on every continent over a span of many many centuries. I look forward to the opportunity of changes to come, and am contemplating my “seeds” very carefully.

All of this along with some painful endings has inspired the poem below.

In the Darkness Deep

My lips will not speak faith,

my heart will not spare hope,

and I can not bare so long to wait,

to chance that love would cope.

My eyes will hasten no light,

my soul will not stir song,

so I loose the breath that fights,

and brace for what belongs.

My hands no warmth will hold,

my body no desire will meet,

Thus I resign to empty cold,

and into the darkness deep.

Thus let the cold pour in,

thus let the light depart,

thus let all darkness begin

and it’s womb take start.

Great day of darkness I wait,

great day of cosmic mirth.

Like destiny upon her gate,

I now wait to give it birth.

For it is there all is born,

yes in the darkness deep;

a hundred fates to adorn,

and a million dreams to keep.

Thus let the cold pour in,

thus let the light depart,

thus let all darkness begin

and it’s womb take start.

Red Admiral Butterfly

This is a painting of the Red Admiral Butterfly. It is from a photo shoot I did this spring at Oak Openings Metropark at the White Oaks area. The Red Admiral Butterfly is easily found through the states and in the UK near oak groves, especially in early spring.

A few years ago I spent a pleasant afternoon with one of these butterflies by the Maumee River. It was quite content to just hang out on me after taking minerals from the rocks. Over and over I find them while in the oaks. Just another whisper pulling me towards oaks, and druidry.

The painting is part of the series I mentioned here -Into Autumn-. This painting, however, is from some journeys in the spring. I have placed the photos for free use on stockxchg. I will continue to add my photography to this site. It is great site for acquiring legal images open to public use.
