I wanted to share a few good sources for journals and other writing supplies.
Oberon Designs is a favorite. They have wonderful journal covers into which you insert a blank book, so you can refill it. My oldest one is about 15 years. I am thrilled at how much they have extended their products.
I also found this great source for dipping pens. The kind you can change nibs on. The actual manufacturer is Cole Calligraphy in the
US at Goldspot or in the
UK at Penheaven. This suits me especially well, since I want to isolate the use of certain nibs for different type of
magick work. They have some beautiful pewter dip pens that you could use any type of feather on. I am hoping to make my own silver dipping pen soon with the sterling silver clay that is out there.
In addition, I want to commission the making of a pen in Burr Oak. That won’t be too expensive either. If it is a good commission, I will be eager to promote the artist. Especially because they, very ethically, use local dead wood.
The advantage of a dipping pen or quill is the ability to use a wider array of inks and additives. Using a dipping method you don’t have to worry about clogging!
